Ensuring the safety of our audience and staff is Sydney Chamber Opera and Carriageworks’s highest priority. As such, we are both actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following advice from government agencies—including Australian Department of Health, NSW Health, and our peak industry body Live Performance Australia (LPA).

The government has banned public gatherings of more than 500 people, as of Monday 16 March. At our maximum capacity, Carriageworks Bay 20 where the performances will take place seats 276 people, so we don’t fall under this recommendation. As such, performances will continue as scheduled until further notice.

For your safety Carriageworks has undertaken a number of initiatives, following Australian Department of Heath recommendations such as increased venue cleaning frequency particularly in performance areas, ensuring all staff are regularly informed about the developing situation making hospital grade hand sanitiser accessible to all staff and visitors.

If recommendations change we will act promptly on any updated advice.
